New facts about the iPhone

Now, of course everyone is ready to get the new iPhone 3G right? It's the most popular phone for only $199, and it's even better than the original, no? Well, lets not get excited about the lower retail value just yet. While the phone has a lower retail value, it's monthly value is at the cheapest $75.00/mo......that is unless it is unlocked. But that's a different story. Anyway, the original iPhone was $60/mo. which is $15.oo cheaper a month than the new iPhone. So if you are someone who is really tight on their cash, you might not want to but that glossy new phone yet. Besides the price, people don't really know the difference between the new and old iPhones, so i'll be the one to tell you. Hardware wise, the phone is no longer made of metal, but it is made of plastic, giving it better reception, and making it slightly lighter. But there are a few drawbacks to this plastic makeover. First of all, the phone is not as durable as the original (which I tested myself) and will break easier if dropped. Second of all, the new glossy back of the phone is just as subject to fingerprints as the sensitive screen is. Third of all, if your hands get sweaty holding this phone, when you are finished the call, you might want to consider putting the phone in the dishwasher along with your dirty glass plates, because it will look like one with all the smears on it. (Please don't actually put your phone in the dishwasher). Next, the battery life issue. The 3G has a shorter battery life in general compared to the original iPhone for. Now there are many things you can do to cut down the battery consumtion, but the 3G push alone will chew on your battery like a piece of gum. Other than that, there aren't too many problems I can think of, but overall, Blaze Computer Systems' iPhones beat out the ones in stores any day. But then again, that's another story.....
